Our family company started out right here in Everett when we opened a retail and wholesale lumber business in 1901. Seventy-four years later in 1975 we began leasing our company property and warehouse space and in 1987 we used a portion of the original company lumber yard to build our Hewitt location storage facility. The business took off and did so well that we expanded the company in 1993, selling off the remaining lumber yard to Lowes to reinvest in our self-storage venture.
In 2007 we purchased a vacant beer distribution warehouse and after two years of renovation, we opened our McDougall location. Our work proved a success! We received the Monte Cristo Neighborhood Friendly Business Award from the City of Everett, followed by the Small Business Administration's 2013 Washington State Family-Owned Small Business of the Year.
We currently own and operate two self-storage facilities under the Everett Downtown Storage name and have been providing the greater Everett community with safe, secure, clean, easy-to-use storage space for both household and commercial use.
